It’s all about the rock!

And Pat, Frank, Geren, Ray and Tom are out to prove it! From Grand Funk to Seether, Led Zeppelin to Black Sabbath … along with a few surprises, Wicked Sun knows how to rock — and rock hard!

Formed by Frank Bottari (who formed the popular Top-40 band Company She Keeps in the early ’80′s), Wicked Sun aims to play those great classic and hard rock songs you forgot about (but wish you hadn’t!) in addition to a selection of hard rockers that are destined to become the next generation of classic rock tunes.

The latest issue of Keyboard Magazine came early this week, and in it, I found an advert for something that looked pretty nifty – a single sustain pedal that will sustain two keyboards at once. And in the same issue, an article about Black Eyed Peas keyboardist Printz Board using a similar device. Hmm…

Tuesday night, I jumped on the DSSP web site and ordered it, and it arrived Thursday, so I figured I’d using for our Brass Monkey gig Friday night, even though I was using only one keyboard. It worked a treat! Nice feel, built like a brick, and no pedal chasing — the thing actually stayed put all night! NICE!

Now if I can just convince them to make single-keyboard versions….

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Brass Monkey last night. I’m thinking that a great time was had by all! We’re already negotiating a return engagement sometime in September. Keep your eyes here for details!

Things are all firmed up for our gig at the Brass Monkey on July 23. We’re putting together a great set that really rocks — and after all, with Wicked Sun, it is … All About the Rock! We can’t wait to see you there. We go on at 9PM, but come early and stay late — there are two other bands performing after us. Tickets for the whole night are just $5 from any band member (what a bargain!) or online; $7 at the door.
